I've been enamored with the idea of living in a pod ever since I first saw one as a teenager. However, I have never seen one in person. That is soon to change because I'm building one!
I'm making progress on my build and will post about it on this site via link chain. I may not enjoy the reality of living in one but I gotta try it. I will use a desk / workstation outside of the pod. And also use external storage. My current interest with this project is to reduce the space I heat and cool.
My workstation is in a climate controlled, semi-communal space. I've lived without climate controlled spaces at various points in my life. But I've always tended to hang out in a cooler spaces during the hottest part of the day. That has limited where I could settle. With a somewhat portable, small footprint pod I can settle more places.
I'm building just one, non-stackable, pod unlike the picture provided. Although if I was living in a proper community, I would probably build and live in something like the picture. Each with a door and decent sound proofing. The goal is minimum viable privacy. In the last few years, I've come to really value privacy. I can't imagine desiring a situation where I don't have at least a pod for absolute privacy.
Also there will be a funnel connected to an external 5 gal bucket so I can dump fluids. I have this in my van and honestly wouldn't want to live without it.
